Open Passage Privacy Policy

Effective October 31, 2026

Open Passage (com.xkryogenik.openpassage) is a Bible reading app. We do not require an account, show no ads, and do not sell or share personal data.

Data stored on your device

Bible texts (KJV, WEB, Reina-Valera 1909) are bundled in the app. Your notes, highlights, bookmarks, and reading settings are stored only on your device. Export uses the Android share sheet; you choose where it goes.

Ask (AI questions)

When you use Ask, the text of your question and the related passage are sent over HTTPS to our Cloudflare Worker, which forwards it to DeepInfra (DeepSeek model) to generate an answer. We do not attach your name, account, or device identifiers. We do not keep question logs beyond transient operational logs held by these providers. Ask is limited to Bible and Scripture topics.

Listen (text-to-speech)

When you play audio, the passage text is sent via our Cloudflare Worker to DeepInfra's Kokoro voice model to produce audio. No personal data is sent.

Watch

Watch opens chapter reading videos on YouTube (the YouTube app or browser). YouTube's own privacy policy applies there.

Purchases

Optional Open Passage Plus subscription and tips are processed by Google Play Billing. We do not receive your payment details; Google shares only purchase status needed to unlock features.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Deleting data

Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage removes all locally stored notes, highlights, and bookmarks.
